Hi Chris-

Here is the OAM configuration on my Cisco 7206,
using a single PVC with a Cisco 7507 on the
other side. (I don't believe OAM has been
configured on the other side: the 7507 belongs
to my service provider). I'm running 12.1(7).

> protocol ip ###.###.###.###
> abr 10000 10000

> oam retry 5 5 1

The #'s are things I've commented out, but the
main OAM config is shown. I get the following
output at the end of the command "sh atm pvc 4/40":

>OAM cells received: 109419
>F5 InEndloop: 109419, F5 InSegloop: 0, F5 InAIS: 0, F5 InRDI: 0
>F4 InEndloop: 0, F4 InSegloop: 0, F4 InAIS: 0, F4 InRDI: 0
>OAM cells sent: 109469
>F5 OutEndloop: 109469, F5 OutSegloop: 0, F5 OutRDI: 0
>F4 OutEndloop: 0, F4 OutSegloop: 0, F4 OutRDI: 0
>OAM cell drops: 0

Cisco's web site has some good documentation on OAM.

Subject: [nsp] ATM OAM

Hi,

I'm trying to enable OAM-pvc management between a MC3810<12.0(3)T1> and a
Cisco 7200<12.0(5)T1>.

------ MC3810 ---------
interface ATM0.2 point-to-point
 ip address 195.222.99.30 255.255.255.252
 no ip directed-broadcast
 [IP OSPF STUFF]
 pvc 15/34
  cbr 1703
  oam-pvc 10
  encapsulation aal5snap
 !

--------- 7200 -------
interface ATM1/0.4 point-to-point
 ip address 195.222.99.29 255.255.255.252
 no ip directed-broadcast
 ip mtu 1500
 [IP OSPF STUFF]
 pvc 15/34
  ubr 1703
  oam-pvc 10
  encapsulation aal5snap
 !

Traffic over these links is fine and without errors (no CRCs on this
link) but the OAM-packets are sent every 10 seconds and never received
on the other side (in either direction). When I do a 'oam-pvc manage'
the link just goes down (as it should when no oam cells are received for
some time).

One other PVC on the MC3810 and one other PVC on the 7200 are working
just fine. Has anyone had the same problem eventually where should I
continue...?

The problem with debugging in this instance is: Whenever I do a
"debug atm oam" on the 7200 or the MC3810 it will instead debug *ALL*
atm-packets and becomes slow as hell.... (until no debug all or
poweroff).

        Chris
