Need some information to setup a dialup [56k analog using a USR Courier
modem, connection using a serial port on a 2501 [with the following details]:

1 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)
2 Serial network interface(s)
32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
8192K bytes of processor board System flash (Read ONLY)

Configuration register is 0x2102

[I can get a more recent version of IOS, if needed].

I have currently connected an old USR Courier modem to serial 1 to
which I will connect an anlaog line.

I need a working config for the router, for the following parameters:

Password [chap]

The router, upon successful negotiation with the above, will have a
default route [ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial 1], but will receive a /24
from the other end, of which it will use an ip address on Ethernet0
that will serve as the default gateway for the rest of the LAN..

Since I haven't done this in many years, I am rusty, but I remember that
2501s [and the like] were partial to USR Couriers...has this changed with
recent versions of code ? If so can anyone reccomend a good 56K modem
to purchase as a replacement for my old Courier ?

Finally, what are the config parameters for the following:

1) Having a nailed up connection ?
2) If connection down, any packet originating from the LAN, bound
externally, will cause the modem to dial-out to the provider ?

Thanks

Fughead
