Hi,
Just a small querry. Consider a 3 tiered IDC
architecture made up of a bunch of 6509 switches:

Core
Distribution
Access

In addition I have a bunch of gateway routers directly
connected to the core switches.

To implemented a differentiated QOS model, I would
ideally do traffic classification ( for outgoing
traffic ) traffic going into the switch at the access
layer. Say I do classification based on the port at
which the data enters the switch.

My question is, what happens to return data ??? Will I
need to classify data at my edge ( gateway routers )
???? I will need to classify based on IP addresses for
return traffic, wont this cause excessive load on the
gateway rotuers ?????? Or do I just classify traffic
in one direction and depend on the windowing /flow
control of tcp ??? what happens to UDP traffic then
??????
