It doesn't? What release are you running? I had problems with packet
loss when running more than about 80 Mbit/sec through one. I'm not
the only person who has noted this problem, it's reproducable, and it
wasn't fixed at least as of 12.0(16)S. And no, I'm not interested in
running 12.1 or 12.2 and adding to my woes rather than subtracting
from them.
Note that the problem is only with dot1q. When running ISL, life is
good. Bummer that I can't wave a magic wand and make Cisco support
the simpler protocol better (or turn my Barneyswitches into Ciscos,
not that I'd really want to do that in retrospect...).
