Cisco 2600 IOS 12.010 only opening 5 vc at peak
Configuration:
Local HOST------------>Cisco ROUTER----------->Remote HOST
TCP TCP-->X25 Trans X25
Performing TCP to X.25 translation on port 7500 to remote host on 30 vc X.25
line. Maximum number of current transactions from the software is being
reported as 5. Results of a "show translate" command show 4/5 peak. Have
tried setting nvc to 8 but the number of max translations was still 4/5
peak. When using "debug x25 all" "debug translate" "debug serial interface"
the following messages are output. --tcppad67: pad state 7 not alive-- and
also --tcppad67: conntop not alive--
I have searched the web for information regarding these errors but haven't
had any joy. I have installed an Eicon x25 card in the local host and have
tested the x25 circuit and have opened all 30 channels. I have also tried
written a simple script to initiate multiple telnet instances to simulate
transactions as the local host TCP/IP driver would and it still only opens 5
channels. Does the IOS actually support 30 concurrent Vcs??
