To followup on this:

 - www.cisco.com says "it's end-of-sales, we'll support 12.2M, but not
all features, and No Further Versions period".

 - 12.2(2)T *had* 4500/4700 images, which is why I assumed they're still
supported (not checking for end-of-sales issues)

 - our wonderful Cisco account manager says (pretty much verbatim) "that's
the way it is, I'm not going to even try to do anything about it, go
   away".

Welcome to the art of improving customer relations. *sigh*

(Anybody interested in purchasing 5 perfectly-working 4700 and 4700M
routers, nice and shiny, fast CPU, not-enough-memory for full BGP and
no-longer-support for IPv6? Good price!)
