I use RANCID for similar purposes. RANCID is perl based but requires no knowledge of perl.

Yes.

Well if you don't know Perl it won't be much use to you. The module is used
within Perl scripts; it's not a standalone application. It's kind of like
asking how to use libc when you don't know C.
