Interesting problem. I know that "our local island" is connected to
"some other multicast islands" (Ebone and SprintLink should be among
them...!).

Nevertheless I do not see any MSDP SAs for 239.255.0.1, and subsequently
I do not receive any beacons.

Isn't 239/8 reserved for site-local multicasting anyway?

(Sorry if this gets really off-topic for the Juniper list now. What would
be a better place to discuss this?)
