Dear all,

I am planning a major upgrade for the two 7710 SR4 I have in production as
internet routers: from 3.R9 to release 7. I have a 7710 SR4 in my lab and
some spare compact flashes, so I can really test the upgrade in the lab and
adjust the configurations of the routers in production. What I would like to
do for the routers in production is the following:

- Prepare in the lab and test the compact flash card in lab with the
files of the release 7 (boot and firmware), and the right bof and
configuration files.

- Power down the router

- Change the CF containing the actual running release 3 with the one
prepared in the lab for release 7

- Power up the router

Since I can format compact flash cards on my laptop and the use them on the
router I suppose that this should work. Yet, Alcatel upgrade procedure does
not mention the possibility of exchanging CFs for the upgrade. Does anyone
made an upgrade like this? May I encounter any problem?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Kind regards, Oriana
