The WRL Globe Scout transmitters were produced in a series of models from
1952 until 1959. The were numbered 40, 40A, 65, 65A, 65B, 66, 680, and 680A.
Throughout the series they used a 6146 in the final and operated CW and AM.
All were crystal controlled. All operated on 160 - 10 meters until the
680/680A models which operated on 80 - 6 meters. The cabinet, which was
progressively "modernized" over the years, is about twice the size of a
DX-60. All models were sold both as a kit or factory wired. Good luck.
