Hi Jeff,

tis a cite lil transmitter and it works like a chap for a two stage
rock bound unit. Nothing fancy circuit wise, yet the cast aluminum case
and the nuke-proof construction is a gas. I bought the tx/rx pair from
fair radio about 6 year ago and had a blast with them although the
crystal control thing is a drag after a while..On the receive the 1L6
converter tube is also a pricy little gem if it goes flat and it does.
My tx has the nifty little machined telegraph key attached to the
front panel and it works quite well. The T/R switching on the thing is
a little crude, but usable. With the 2E26 final the thing puts out
enough power to work about anything you can hear. I would recommend the
matching power supply (AC) unless you can find the odd little rubber
insulated plug/cords for the power connector on the front of the unit.
This is the kind of radio that as a kid you would have taken under
you bed sheet along with your flash light and Cpt Yukon decoder ring and
had a ball even if you had not a clue as to how to use it. Great memory
machine.
