Dow Key relays ?

I will ask on this list (as it is smaller, and I'm less likely
to feel embarrased by my question :-) --

What exactly is a Dow Key relay?  I gather they are either a
particular design of a relay or a previously successful
brand that was ideally suited for T/R relays and could support
semi-QSK or such like as it virtue.  How close am I?
Information to enlighten desired.   Thanks.
