Tube prices

$45 5AR4s, $15 5U4s?  Have I been playing Rip Van Winkle?  When did this
kind of inflation take place?  Have the audioooophiles discovered that
rectifiers are the best audio output tubes ever made?  I know NOS 45s will
set you back around $50 - $75, but $45 for 5AR4s is sure news to me.  Don't
get me wrong, I'm not implying this is out of line.  Of course I paid $25
for my EAC R-390A so all R-390s should be no more than $25.  :^)

Inquiring minds sure would like to know about the tubes.
