Discussion of the HP 608x signal generator?

I have come across a HP 608D dignal generator in pretty good shape.
Was wondering if I didnt see a discussion many months ago on the 608
series? I have heard the 608E is supposedly "the best" of the bunch.
Is my "new" 608D gonna be a pain to operate, or is it just as good as
most other generators of the day. What should I look for as far as upkeep,
etc? This unit has been attic-stored for perhaps 20 years, so a good
going-over
is in order first thing when I receive it.

It will come in handy for the higher freqs my URM-25D wont do, just hope
is is worth the room it takes up... :-)

What other versions of the 608 are there? What are their freq
ranges/differences
between the -D model, etc?

Always full of questions when I get a new toy! ( well, full of something
anyway... heehee)
