In 1927, Richard E. Byrd, the artic explorer, made a transatlantic flight in the Fokker trimotgor "America". Aboard he had two radio sets: the main set was built for the expedition at the Naval Research Laboratory by Malcolm P. Hanson and L. A. Hyland. The second. emergency, set was waterproof and used a kite to carry the antenna aloft. Does anyone have any further information on these radios??? Thanks, Bob
