Well,
Received a lot of responses to my post. Most ranged from ``let the free
hand of the market work'' to ``forget Collins, Drakes work just as nice
and are a lot cheaper.'' Generally, only few thought that $1,200 was out
of line, which was the only question I was asking.
The long and the short of it is that there's no explaining what happens
on eBay. People either have no patience, not a clue or get swept up in
the bidding process (Buy now! Bid now! Going! GOING! GONE!) and rational
thinking flies out the window. But hey, it's their dime. If they're
happy, who am I to blow against the wind?
I really think the amount of BA gear that gets traded on eBay doesn't
warrant anti-eBay invectives. You don't like it, don't go there. I can't
see eBay having a significant impact on the prices paid by average BAers.
73 all and thanks for the replies.
