crystals

With all the discussions about crystals, I have a question.

I have a box of crystals labeled "Navy type 10527 box containing
type 40162 crystal units for model TDZ equipment". What is TDZ
equipment ? There is also a similiar box with axial lead crystals
around here somewhere and the usual 243s, crystal ovens and
freq marker crystals everyone accumulates.....

Neat old stuff, even found an old "Z-2" with the tapped screw on
the cover to "rubberize" it and one marked "Pasadena (Tx) Radio
Club 3.885Mc".
