Replacing line cords on boatanchors

Greetings all,

I have a pretty basic question, but I suspect, an important one.

I am replacing a two-wire line cord on an R-388 with a three-wire line cord that I have.

The replacement three-wire cord has green, blue, and brown wires.  The green wire
is the ground, and I have confirmed this with my ohmeter.  For the remaining two
wires, which one should be fused - the brown one or the blue one?  Or does it matter?
