6L6 versions???

Simply, I have one question to ask.
What do they use nowadays for high power transmitters in broadcasting business
or radar application? Solid state or hollow state? And TV picture tubes,
CRTs, etc. Lots of tubes still around I'd say. Tubes still have their place
and solid state stuffs have it's place. Some things change Veeerrrrry slow or
could never change, IMHO. Whenever I come across working/fixing something,
often times I wished , Gee, how nice it'd be if this thingy were made with
tubes or vice versa.
