Hi Gang --

A few days ago I picked up from Howard Mills the wonderful old Collins R-388
that had been given to me by a friend. I thought he was kidding when he
said I'd be able to see myself in the IF cans when he was done. He
wasn't... they look like the chrome plated headers on a '57 Chevy but he
swears it's not plated, just done with wire brushing and polishing. He is a
rather amazing craftsman and the look and performance were spectacular.

I say were because today I went to turn it on and the PTO is DOA. Other
than about 40mv of 120 cycle hum -- nada coming out. Replaced the tubes and
poked around a bit to confirm the diagnosis but the news is not good.

Having finally returned to the workforce this week after a year of
unemployment and successful retraining as a computer network admin, things
are not too long in the wallet. So... my question is: does anyone have or
know where I can get, a PTO for this machine at a reasonable price. I
believe it's the 70E-15 model. It sure would be nice to get her back up and
running again. Thanks.
