Johnson Ranger *no grid current*

It sounds like you might have something wrong in the drive pot
circuit. Those are usually 25K WW units that form a voltage divcide
for the screen supply to the buffer I think.

If the bypass cap at the screen were shorted out or the other
resistor in the divider was to be OPEN, I think it might exhibit the
problems you describe.

I would begin by poking around in that area anyway, and check things
against the voltage charts in the manual.
