Jeff asks:

"How do I connect that 8-foot pipe to the antenna terminal of my SX-101
w/o using wire?"

Jeff - there is only one way to do this; You must use a 64 bit wide x
64 times oversampling A to D and D to A converters and send the signals
via broadband infa-red thru a custom built light-pipe. Nothing else has
the bandwith or can avoid the EMI. (This is actually the key technology
in the long awaited "fired-wired" IRDA technology that all the wrist
held "wrist-roc" computers are using.) Don't forget that you must
implement this with hand matched Lithuanian made Amperite "Booger-Boy"
tubes with 666 date codes, palladium plated pins and socket contacts
using a circuit design done by a full blood offspring of Howard Hughes.

Now if it was a REAL radio application you could just by something with
a Collins logo on it and plug it in....
