I think you will find that a lot of BA types never bothered to subscribe
to Jack's paid list in the first place. To my (maybe strange) way of
thinking, the internet was originally conceived for the free exchange of
information, not something to make money off of. I realize that almost
everyone uses the net now for business as well as pleasure, but it is
that belief in the free exchange of information that led me to start the
Boatanchor Manual Archive. Frankly, I'm surprised that the paid list is
still a viable thing. There is just too much good information available
free for the asking, and this list is an excellent example of that!
By the way, welcome aboard Jeffrey! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your
historical pieces on the USCG CW operation a year or so ago. Great
stuff!
