12AX7-type Tube History

Someone asked about 12A-7 tube history.

The 12A-7 series of dual triodes was appearently
birthed during WW-II.
The 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes do not appear in
RCA Receiving Tube manual RC-14 (1942),
but do appear in RCA manual RC-15 (1947).
I don't have RC-16, but the 12AT7
is included in RC-17 (1954).
