RCA phono jacks on Heath gear

I'll second Joe's comment about BNC's. They are a terrific connector
and I replace or supplement an RCA with a BNC any time I can make it fit
and not destroy the origionality of a radio. I added a BNC to the back
of my 51S-1 as it fir into an available "spare" hole perfectly. The
bayonette lock is much more secure than the RCA's slip fit.
Also second the comment about quality. There are RCA's which are so
loosly built that they are only useable for audio and others that are
just fine for HF Rx. Both Collins rigs I own have back panels that are
mine fields of RCA Jacks, and the 51S-1 was more of a commerical rig
than the 75S-3.

If I were looking for a real cheap/marginal connector it would be the
infamous Mototola.
