TR4 help

Hello;

I have a TR4 that receives well but will not transmit when placed into 'x-cw'
mode (with no key plugged in). I would expect it to, for tune up...Shorting
the contacts on the key jack doesn't work either, but it will go to transmit
in SSB mode by shorting the mic PTT circuit.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Also - looking for a manual for the TR4, and an knob with the flat grip and
white kerf.  And...any advice about chassis corrosion? How to stop and or
repair?  And ....how is the spackle finish on this case repaired??
