HA-10 Warrior Swamping Network

Hello All:

Yesterday, got a nice HA-10 amp from a local gentleman. I was thinking
of useing it with my DX-60 on AM. I noticed in the manual that Heathkit
recomends a 6db swamping network. What would be the reason for then
swamping network with a transmitter that has 10 to 20 watt carrier and
50 to 60 watt peaks with controled modulation?
