Meter shunts/measuring

I make shunts with wire of known resistance, like .1 ohm/foot and
have had good (enough) accuracy. Rather than trying to measure the
shunt, I install the shunt on the meter and see what the meter reads.
Compare that meter to another known/calibrated meter reading.
It 's a "cut-and-try" system, but I've always gotten close enough on
the first attempt.
It's alot easier to measure 250ma the .3 ohms.......
