Astro 103

The Astro 103 is an excellent solid state receiver and transmitter.

Dual VFO, designed around 1980, cost about $1200 new.  Excellent for CW
operation.

There are mods that the late model ones had installed at the factory.
You will want the mods since they stablize the OSC/PLL circuitry.


Unit comers the new bands 17 meters, etc.

I have had one since 1980 and it is an excellent rig.  I normally run 50
watts output or operate QRP with 5 watts.  The rig is in demand by CW
ops.  Only about 400 were build.  My SN is 353 and it has the mods.

The receiver is excellent and handles over loads very well so a KW can
operate a few khz from you. hi
