Help with Mitrek?

I have a Mitrek in the 2m range complete with head
and cables and three freq. modules.

I am looking for a kit, a design, a built, or recommendation
for a readily-modifiable VFO so that I can free the rig
from freq. modules ... anyone know of such a thing?

If not, anyone know what the requirements would be to
implement a VFO for the Mitrek in the 2m range?  Any
gotchas?
