Ozone was Re: Marconi

Now re ozone, as generated in quantity by large spark transmitters:

1. Is the oxidizing effect the reason why used cars are sometimes treated
   by having an ozone generator left on inside them by auto detailers, to
   destroy old odors and (supposedly) restore "new car smell" ?

2. Wasn't the "Ozone Generator" a standard quack medical machine of
yesteryear,
   perhaps around 1880 - 1920 ?
