Pls ID this tube

I have a NOS in box tube that I can't identify.

It's a UE558.  Mil surplus, circa 1959.

4-pin base like an 811A, anode cap, and what looks
like a graphite anode.  The tube is somewhat shorter
than an 811A, and the anode is about the size of
a graphite 4-250 anode.

My guess is that it's a triode capable of replacing
an 811A for more power or more rugged service.

If nothing else, it's an interesting collectible and
I would entertain offers to sell/swap.
