Drake TR-7

I know it is solid state but it was made by R.L. Drake and that must mean
something good.......................

Can any of the optional filters be selected at any time on the TR-7? For
example, if I am in SSB can I select the wide AM filter? I assume that I can
but before I go and spend $105 on an InRad 6khz filter I want to verify
this. The goal is to be able to receive wide bandwidth in ssb.
