Valiant VFO

Valiant VFO is working on all bands except 160 and 80, so the low
frequency for those bands isn't being produced. Was oscilating until I
buttoned up all covers on the VFO. Strong VFO signal of 40, 20, 15, 10,
and 11 meters! VFO seems intermittent on the 160 and 80 meter bands with
it working  and most time not working. Seems something is mis adjusted
to make the VFO oscilate on 160 freq and then NOT oscilate. It is like
something comes and goes to make it oscilate and then not oscilate. Any
ideas about why the fundemental VFO freq in 40 meter band works and yet
drops out of oscilation on the 160, meter fundemental oscilator freq?
