Uhh.....a coke bottle?
Seriously, you might try a commercial electrical supply house for a compression insulator. Should be available (but not cheap!) Alternatively, your local electric company may have a scrapyard you can get into and pick through the cesspools of PCBs and rusting selenium rectifier stacks.
Our local scrapper, American Metal Processors, frequently gets powerline scrap -- and they're my Best Friend when I need copper bar, strap, heavy cable, or plate.

Subject: base insulators
I'm trying to help a friend build a quarter wave vertical for 160 meters,
out of 120 feet of Rohn SSV self supporting tower with a 5WN base section .
...................................... but .........................
Rohn does not make insulators for the 5WN base section and Lapp does not
seem to have anything that would work. Got any ideas?
