Globe King parts needed

Joe -

The "real" GK cabinets had 3" X 1.5" X 3/16" steel angle stock welded
to the inside wall of the cabinet at the appropriate locations to
provide support for the Modulator and RF Deck. These cabinets are
very hard to find without the "innards!" The angle stock runs nearly
the entire depth of the cabinet, and is welded directly to the walls.
Certainly the Modulator requires this support, and I think it would be
risky to rely solely on front panel support for the RF deck as well.
The side brackets on each chassis help, but both are pretty heavy,
especially since most of the transformers are mounted near the back of
the each chassis. The 28" height is also a "non-standard" from Bud,
the standards being 26-1/4" or 31-1/2" of panel space. Just to add
insult to injury, the depth isn't even "standard" at 15-1/4" rather
than the standard 14-3/4".....

Almost seems Leo went out of his way to make life difficult for us...
:-) By the way, the easiest way to spot a real one from a distance
is that the GK only has a single row of louvers on each side rather
than the double row on the standard (there's that word again...) Bud.

Good luck!
