Hi Fellow AM'rs
Just an update on exhisting work in shop & future plans.

Last March I went to my silk screener & was greatly disturbed that work that
had been scheduled for February was still not done!!?? I'm embarrassed to
say that I have a Ranger-1 from early January & still not done! Well, whats
the problem? Seems my silk screener has more work to do than he has time to
get done. Besides, I DONT PAY ENOUGH! So after couple of years with Bill, we
parted ways. That was in later part of March. So what now? Seems I'm not
alone with this problem. I talked to a fellow restorerer up in W.Va. & he
has had simular problems. He restores Collins like I do Johnson. So I made
the decision to get into screen printing. Seems the only thing to do. And it
has been a very interesting experience & REWARDING! Yep, thats right. Seems
Bill did me a favor. To make a long story short, we will soon (this week?)
be doing screen printing right near home on new state of the art equipment,
multi-color! (when called for) Additionally, we have experienced a real
"breakthrough" in artwork preparation. And we can "burn" our own screens
now. This means WE WILL BE ABLE TO EXPAND our services to other Johnson
radios very soon.

So whats on the agenda? First we are re-burning Ranger-l & Ranger-ll screens
so we can finish our back log. This is to speed up the screening process.
Furthermore, We plan to have several Ranger panels & cabs sitting on the
shelf, finished, waiting for "trade-out" for your old cab / panel set. Next,
we're planning the same for Valiant.
The Johnson-500 project is next. We already have the artwork done.
Presently, we have 8, J-500 jobs lined up. Included is my Collins restorer
friend up in W. Va. who has a bunch to do.
I have been asked to do the Johnson Vik-ll. That will be next. We are
already doing the Hammarlund HQ-180 series radios. What next? Mabe the
Johnson Desk. We'll see. Depends on how many are willing to spend money on a
particular rig.

PRICES: As you folks know that take the ER mag, I advertise Ranger, Valiant,
& Hammarlund HQ-180 (& A) sets complete for $250. + shipping, restoring your
cabs. The J-500 & Vik-ll will be in the same price range. I dont expect to
find any extra J-500 cabs around to have sitting on the shelf finished. But
I can assure you the turn around time will be greatly improved with the
screen printing close to home!

Hope this info is of interest to you. And please visit my web page. That in
itself will be an ongoing project with new stuff.
Warm regards & see you on Am.
