Here's mine-

The "old, old fashioned" way- let it soak with just plain lemon
oil (furniture polish). 

I've never found any tape or residue that couldn't be removed
after a good overnight soak with it. Including electrical tape,
but with that, you need to soak and peel a little at a time.

Any residue remaining after the tape removal cleans off easily
with a cloth moistened with the lemon oil, and a bit of "elbow
grease".
