Help me Identify this WWII Radio

Found this W.W.II transmitter at a garage sale. Anyone familiar with it
and can tell me some basics? The markings are

CRV-52333 Aircraft Radio Transmitter - RCA Dept. of Navy

CRV-47192 Tuning Unit 3-9 MHz Their are 2 of the plug-in tuning units
