National 80X

Hello everybody,

I have a nice 80X that has had a kit modification done. It has a
replacement dial reading from 7 to 7.5 megs. It also has an extra tube
(6AK5). Does anyone have old ads that might show a description of this
kit? I did find a National ad for this radio in stock condition in a QST
from 1938..
However, I have not ever found any later stuff on advertised kits to
improve
the radio. My radio with this vintage hop up kit works VERY well! I
understand that this extra tube 6AK5 was developed during the war and
hit the market shortly after the end of WW2. Is there any info out
there?
