They are used in a variety of products, especially emergency lighting and
telephone systems, most anything that needs standby power. They are not
particularly good for radio use as they prefer to be on a trickle charge.

I have 7 Gates rechargeable batteries. 6, "D" cells, and 1, larger than "D".
They are all 2 volt. The "D" cells are 2.5 AH, and the large one is 5.0 AH.
There is the name "CYCLON" printed in a red band around the middle. Does
anyone know what equipment used these batteries.
