This has been asked before. I doubt even a prototype was made but may have
been.
Unless I am mistaken the ads included a very high quality line drawing and
artists rendition
that looked like a photo. Never made it to market for sure. 73 de K0AZ

I wonder if anyone has actually seen a Knight-Kit
T-400 transmitter. This was marketed in 1959,
supposedly available in February, 1960, and was an
"add on" type of construction.

You started with a 400 watt CW transmitter using a
7034/4X150A final at a cost of $395.00.

The SSB generator kit was an additional $69.95.

The AM modulator kit was and additional $24.95.

The Speech amplifier kit was $9.95.

A 3 inch monitor scope kit was $37.95.

A kit to add 6 meters was $7.50.

It was rated at 400 watts input on CW and AM, and at
600 watts PEP input on SSB. It used the heterodyne
method so that the VFO "stays put" (according to the
advertisement on the October 1959 issue of QST back
page).

There is also a reference in the "Ham Equipment
Buyer's Guide" by Alton L. Brand, WA9MBJ, revised 1
December 1972.

But, I have seen a lot of "boat anchors", but I have
never seen one of these. I hadn't noticed the
advertisement until a little while ago while going
through the issue looking for something else.

Anyway, anyone ever seen one of these?
