While the naming of all civic structures in the name of politicians is kinda pointless, I
disagree that the naming of things in science is different, IMO.

I believe that naming things in science after a person is the ultimate tribute that can be
paid. You know when you have really made it when your work becomes an accepted part of the
science infrastructure. Where would science and engineering be without the work of people
like Ampere, Faraday, Henry, Hertz, Maxwell, Newton, Ohm, Volta ? They deserve to be
recognized.

Perhaps they shyould build more public toilets if they want to name things after
politicians?
