If you are not sure of your paint skills and want the job to turn out right
contact Dan Arney (Hank); KN6DI in Northridge, CA at: hankarn at pacbell.net. I
have looked around and tried several and he is the best I have found. Hank
uses powder coat and can do textured as well as semi-gloss surface finishes.
Powder coat is preferable because it is baked at around 400 degrees and is
tough as nails like the baked original. Most repaints (spray cans or
whatever) that don't have hardener and are not baked don't have good
durability and will scuff and scratch easily. He knows what he is doing with
this stuff and the cost is reasonable considering you are getting a nice
looking cabinet that looks like a new original. Not cheap though but high
quality seldom ever is.
