There is one more option.....
So far, all of the answers regarding the Johnson 6N2 transmitter have been
very informative.  As Glenn Zook points out, it was really a transmitter,
minus the modulator and power supply.
However, Johnson did make a very limited run, maybe protoypes only, of a 6 &
2 M transmitting upconverter.  Physically, it matched the SSB adapter that
they made for the Valiant II, but in fact was a heterodyne upconverter.  I
have seen photos of this ultra rare box, but alas cannot locate a current
link.  If I find something more, I'll repost.
