Heathkit HR-10

Recently I acquired an HR-10 receiver and know nothing about this model.
It has two octal sockets - one is on the back of the chassis with two
pins marked "ground" and "muting." The second one is on top of the
chasssis on a back corner and has no markings. Leads to its underside do
not appear to be connections for a tube.

What is the second socket for?
