AM-494 VHF Linear Amplifier - Make your voice 
heard on 
2 meters. 
This is a surplus unit that originally covered 150 
to 160 MHz. 
It will probably do fine on the 2m ham band as-is, 
with no circuit changes. Uses a pair of 4X150 
tubes (included) and 
a silver, strip-line tuned tank resonator circuit. 
Has tuned input also.

It is basically the same kind of circuit hams have 
used for decades to get 1000 Watts input on 2m. 
Requires an external power supply of 1500V to 2000 
V DC 
for max input, plus filaments. Not sure if the 
original circuit used fixed bias or not.  HAs 
handles
Regulated screen supply required for SSB linear 
operation. 
Near design has two VELVET VERNIER DIALS for the 
tuning up.  
This unit is in excellent condition inside and 
out. 
Dimensions: 15.5"  X  9" deep  X  9.75" tall.
