Fixing Color-Drift in Plastic?

The light blue dial and speaker shroud on the SBE-33
is supposed to be light blue, same as the knobs:

I have seen a couple of them and the plastic -- only on
the dial cover and speaker shroud, not the knobs -- has
changed to a different darker blue shade.

Slightly visible here, but not as dark as the ones I've seen:

Is there a good trick to restore the color or must the
dial cover and speaker shroud be painted to match the
knobs?

If so, what would be the recommended preparation and
type of paint used?
