S-38E volume control

I have an S-38E w/ an ailing volume control. The power switch seems to 
be OK but the pot can is loose and turning/wiggling the shaft causes a 
lot of variation in volume and cutting out. The specifications call for 
a 2 Meg pot but the highest I've seen at places like Antique Electronic 
Supply and RadioDaze is 1 Meg. Any ideas or thoughts?
