Dow Key relay chatter problems

Try putting a silicon rectifier (i.e. 1N4004 through
1N4007) in series with the coil.  You might put about
a 10 mfd capacitor across the coil with the cathode
end of the diode going to the "+" (positive) side of
the diode.
